History
The Southeast Missouri Network Against Sexual Violence (SEMO-NASV) was formed in the summer of 1997 addressing issues of adult and child sexual violence.  Several meetings occurred involving a wide cross-section of human services professionals, including medical and law enforcement personnel, to address the unmet needs of child and adult victims of sexual violence. SEMO- NASV helped 42 clients during its first year of operation and has now provided care to thousands of victims since opening its doors.  For almost 14 years the agency has provided case management, advocacy, counseling to the counties of Bollinger, Cape Girardeau, Dunklin, Madison, Mississippi, New Madrid, Pemiscot, Perry, Scott and Stoddard.

While still continuing our original mission to serve victims of sexual violence SEMO-NASV, now Beacon Health Center, is reaching out to provide care to the citizens of southeast Missouri.  With the ever-growing need for primary health care, the agency decided in 2010 to open a health center and mental health center to provide service to the general public.  Our mission: Beacon Health Center promotes optimum health and emotional well being with dignity and respect.
